The 2024/25 Cruz Azul Third Jersey is inspired by the club's nickname: La Maquina.

One origin story is based on a railway that brought cement from the Cemento Cruz Azul, the company where club began. La Maquina, or "the locomotive" was for a team that motored through its opponents.
